Belek is one of the best locations in the world surrounded by antique cities, and the turquoise sea where the emerald green meets the falls flowing from the mountains. Belek which is located 30 kilometres east of the Antalya city center is one of the most favorite resort areas of the Mediterranean and it is acknowledged as the center of Mediterranean tourism of today and tomorrow.
Its nature and the first grade advances in tourism investments help Belek to develop rapidly. Each season of the year different beauties and various relaxing activities are being exhibited. At present, there are 5 golf clubs, 34 hotels of 4 or 5 stars and 1111 five star holiday village in the area. Unlimited comfort is being served to the guests with first grade quality service throughout these centers. Belek is on its way towards becoming a world treasure encompassing the natural beauties of the Mediterranean. Presently at the Belek Tourism Center 11 golf clubs and 44 five star hotels and holiday villages are being planned.

A city meeting the winds blowing from the Taurus Mountains
Antalya, a city under the vault of heaven meeting the deep blue of the Mediterranean, is a natural paradise which embraces the orange gardens, ornamented with green woods and begonias of all kinds spread over the Taurus. Its architecture embraces the sandy beaches bathing under the sunlight, the scent of moss along the coast; and above all the purple-tinted Taurus Mountains which give liveliness to its inhabitants. When one looks at the city from a distance, he easily notices that it is founded on solid rocks, locally known as “Falez”, and it extends beyond the Taurus Mountains with its peaks covered with snow throughout the year. The city and its environments are very rich in history. During the archaeological excavations made at Karain Cave, located in 27 kilometers northwest of Antalya, valuable remains of ancient times have been found, belonging to Paleolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Ages, and to Hittite, Likya, Cilicia and Pamphylia civilizations that are seen in the historical cities of Side, Perge, Aspendos, Sagalassos, Termessos etc.
Evolution of Antalya starts with a Pergamum King, Attalos II. He had a strong desire to build a world paradise in this spectacular place where Antalya is located today. For this purpose, the city was completely repaired and it was at first names as Attelia. Later, other names such as Adalia and Adalya were given until the name “Antalya” was accepted making it the “World City” of Turkey.
Antalya has hosted legendary gods and goddesses and also it has lived through Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantium, Anatolian Seljuk and Ottoman eras. Antalya has inherited from all these civilizations and possibly the title of a “World city” is given to it based on its long historical past. Antalya is the right place for those who both want to trace a magnificent history and to have a good holiday.
Belek with its long sandy beach, clean sea, pine forests, international size golf courses and attractive holiday villages, is the best tourism center of the Mediterranean. However, this spectacular area is not only a tourism district but also an area providing protection to the natural life of the Mediterranean. For this reason, architecture and facilities in Belek Tourism Center are organized in a way that would not disturb natural life and vegetation. In the relation to the construction plan almost all high standard resort facilities are delicately placed between the beach and the forest harmoniously.Besides, joint works with the environmental organizations continue, which aim to improve the stream and the watery area extending towards the east of the forest and to turn this area into a Bird Paradise. Belek in the Traces of History
Aspendos from the Hellenistic Period to Today
According to the Greek mythology, the rise of Aspendos dates back to the 5th century BC, and is founded by the Argive colonies. Aspendos, due to its introducing a new philosophy, a new social structure, and a new understanding of art, is accepted as an important center. After being united with the Roman Empire in 190 BC, it became an important trade center. The lower and upper Aspendos ruins are located between two hills and Kopru Cayi (the Eurymedon River).
The Aspendos Theater in town is built by Theodoros’s son, Architect Zenon during the reign of Marcus Aurelius. The theater, where the actors could enter from five different parados, is in Greco-Roman style. The reason why the theater is still so intact is related to the restorations done by the Seljuks in the 13th century.
Side : The city of Goddesses
Side, whose name it takes after the “pomegranate” has an interesting and mystical story. Side, the goddess of nature and fertility, goes to the Manavgat River (the Melas River) with her daughter and sea nymphs in order to pick up flowers and make garlands with them. All of a sudden, Side sees a tree which has colorful flowers and radiant leaves. She wants to pluck a bough and give it to her daughter. However, the tree starts to bleed where she plucked it. Side, unable to decide what to do, understands that this tree is actually a nymph turned into a tree to be protected from evil people. She becomes so sad that she wants to run away But she cannot manage because her feet have sent out roots. Side gradually turns into a tree. The nymphs, who are watching this, were so sad that they watered Side’s fresh roots with their tears. Side, who understands that there is no way back, says to the nymphs: “From now on, I will be the symbol of nature and life with my crimson colored fruits. Bring my daughter here all the time, so that she can play under my shade, and tell her not to pluck any tree, not to harm any flower. Who knows ? Perhaps each is a deity turned into a tree.” It is said that side takes its name from such a legend.

Perge : A Magnificent Historic City
Perge, which is an important city of the historical Pamphylia region, is 18 kilometers away from Antalya and is founded by the Hittites in 1500 BC. St. Paul delivered his first sermons here. The city lived through the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine eras. Its theater, which has a 15,000 seating capacity, is built in the 2nd century AD. The stadium, which is located next to the theater, has a 12000 seating capacity. Apart from the Aphrodisias in the Aegean Region, it is the best preserved stadium. Under the seating areas, there are 30 chambers, which are thought to be rooms used as shops. In the recent excavations, numerous statues and works of art are found. The gates, the Nymphaeum, the colonnaded streets, the Necropolis, the Basilica, and the Acropolis are some of the places worth visiting.

Tat Golf Belek International Golf Club is now opening the doors of its courses of 27 holtes to international tournaments. Club, covering an area of 110 hectares, is designed by the United Kingdom holf course architects in harmony with the natural paradise beauty of Belek. In the planning of the facility, specifications demanded particularly by the European golfers are taken into consideration as standard. Tatgof Belek offers championships of 9 holes to be arranged with 3 alternatives and also the possibility of alternate 18 holes. To allow the golf fans to perceive the length of the course, when they are playing the rounds of golf of 9, 18 or 27 holes in company with the incredible scenery, golf paths are deliberately extended along the beach. On the other hand, spectacular location of Tatgolf Belek, extending between Taurus mountains and the Mediterranean, is directly affecting the rate of preference of it. National Golf Club (NGC) of 27 holes, inaugurated in 1994, is situated on a terrain of 920 heactares covered with pine and eucalyptus trees. It is the first golf club of Turkey conforming to the standards of EPGA (European Professional Golfers Assocation) allowing international golf tournaments. NGC was rated as 42nd among the 1500 golf club of the Mediterranean during the evaluation made in 2000. The club was promoted to 39th among the European clubs in 2001 and in 2002, as a result of the studies conducted by The Golf Magazine it is promoted to 16th rank in the world. In 2003 it became the 4th best golf club among the finest 100 golf clubs of the world based on the ranking of German Journal Magazine. NGC is jointly designed by David Fenerty and David Jones, with due respect to the protection of local natural beauties. This design is realized by the American "Aquaturf" Company and the terrain on which the club is now located contains a golf course of 18 holes for the tournaments, an academic course of 9 holes and practice fairways covering Driving Range for 40 persons, 2 putting Green, Bunker and Chipping Practice Area. As for NGC "Club House", there is a Restaurant-Bar, pro-shop, where special golf creations and materials are sold and hired; golf related Library and storey and terrace for club members only. |

Golf Resort Belek
Gloria Golf Club inaugurated in September 1997, covers an area of 772,000 m2 near the forest and sea. There are 36 handicaps for women and 28 handicaps for men in the area which has an academic training field. There exists four Tees, marked as Yellow, Red, White and Blue, each covering an area of approxiamtely 150 m2. Greens cover an area of approximately 600 m2. Fairways consist of 16,000 m2 greens and 63 bunkers. There are 7 puddle in the Gloria Golf Club. Although all of them carry potable waters, only 5 are isolated. Total coverage of the puddles is 57,000 m2. Turf used at Greens and Fairways is Bermuda. Putting Green set up near the Club building, covers an area of 8 m2. Also there is one chipping & pitching green near the Club building. Additionally, there are two new chipping greens near the training field. Acısu Mini Golf is established near Acısu River and covers an area of 3500 m2. It consists of 27 holes. Near the Club building there is a stroke lane for 48 persons and a big puddle (12.000 m2) with small islands on it carrying targets in front of driving range. There are 40 buggies at the club. Golf related materials can be purchased at the pro-shop located in the club building. Golf lessons are not free of charge, they are additionally charged. There are 10 complete set of golf club for hire at the facility.Inside the club building there are restaurant, bar, lobby for golfers and fireplace. At the pro-shop there are wc, training room and a room to change clothes. |

Gloria Golf Resort's golf courses has been designed by the French golf course designer Michel Gayon, the Belgian golf project management company J.N.C International with the cooperation of Turkish Consultants, to suit the Mediterranean climate and impress even the most demanding golfer. The Club House is tastefully decorated and features a restaurant , bar and pro-shop. Here at Gloria Golf Club you can taste the unique experience of playing golf all year round on a course surrounded by Belek's breathtaking nature. All gloria golf courses are situated in the pine forest of Belek, at the foot of Taurus mountains.

The 9-hole golf course has been designed so that the first tees can be played from two different points this way the golfers will be able to play two separate 9-hole rounds. Dave Thomas, the world famous architect, has masterfully created the ultimate golfing experience, Robinson Golf Club Nobilis (1998) within the natural pine foresty covering an area of 70 hectares. (Championship Tee is 6314 m, for men 5877 m, for women 5103 m) Green tees made by cold season turf, bending and moving greens make definite differences from other golf courses. Bentgrass (Agrostis Stolonifera) is used at Green/Tees and Bermuda Tifway 419 is used as Fairways. Fairways are kept large and rough area is obtained by clearing the bottoms of trees and forest. Average green area is 600 m2 allowing the best playing surface for a golf tournament. The picturesque views throughout the golf course, especially the lakes existing in the area and the Acisu River flowing from the east side highlight the natural beauty of setting while providing challenging, yet fair play for golfers of all levels. The Robinson Golf Club Nobilis 18-hole 72 par "Park Land Course" is located directly on the club gorunds with its broad, well-kept fairways lined with mature trees. For training purpose, PGA Professionals are availabnle in the club. At our facility, there are 22 battery operated Buggies, 3 sand pool for training, 2 training greens, 4 platforms for training strokes ( one indoor). Generously sized and floodlit training area offers golfers to practice even in the night. Nobilis is now a well-known golf club. |
